The Board of Elof Hansson Holding has appointed Lennart Eberleh as the new CEO of the international trading house Elof Hansson. Lennart Eberleh is currently the CEO of Rottneros and has many years of experience in the forest and paper industry.
He will assume his position no later than June 2026, succeeding Mikael Forslund, who, after 10 years as CEO, is leaving his role at his own request to retire during 2026.
Lennart Eberleh has long and solid experience in leading roles within the global paper and pulp industry, most recently as CEO of Rottneros, a position he has held since 2016. Previously, he held leading roles at BillerudKorsnäs and Stora Enso.
"Elof Hansson is a trading house with over 125 years of history, built on trust, long-term relationships, and strong business acumen. With Lennart, we get a leader who both respects this heritage and has the ability to carry it forward in a changing world. His leadership style, characterized by responsiveness, responsibility, and a clear business focus, aligns with the values that have shaped Elof Hansson since the beginning. The Board has great confidence that Lennart, together with the organization, will continue to develop the company with the same long-term perspective and in the spirit of Elof Hansson. Me and the Board also want to extend a warm thank you to Mikael Forslund for his many years of successful leadership, and wish him a well-deserved retirement in 2026," says Anette Asklin, Chairman of the Board of Elof Hansson Holding.
“It is an honor to have been appointed as the new CEO for Elof Hansson, and I have great respect for the company’s history. With more than 30 years of experience in the Swedish forest industry, across a wide range of companies and products, I am confident that I can contribute to the company’s future development. I look forward to being part of the journey that Elof Hansson is on,” says Lennart Eberleh.
Current CEO Mikael Forslund will remain in his position until Lennart Eberleh takes office. Mikael Forslund will thereafter be available to the company for the remainder of 2026 to ensure a smooth and long-term handover.
"I am very happy and proud of my ten years at Elof Hansson. It has been a journey filled with both success and setbacks, but always with a focus on seeing opportunities and continuous development. It is also continuous development that is behind my decision to retire. After a long career filled with hard and joyful work, I now want to focus on my family and have a little more freedom in what I do with my time," Mikael Forslund concludes.
