BTG, the multinational provider of highly specialized process solutions for the global tissue, pulp, and paper industry, has launched a new solution for accurately measuring the chemical additive demand of fibers in the paper production, leading to cost savings.

A new addition to BTG’s cutting-edge lab instruments portfolio, the SZP-16 is a compact, portable and easy-to-use solution.

Developed for use in the paper production, the specialized lab instrument accurately measures the Zeta potential to make fiber additive demands visible. Data that reveal if and how fibers and additives interact, unlock access to more informed decision-making and greater operational efficiency in a paper production.

Quick and easy to use, a measurement is ready in around 2 minutes, and automatic cleaning capabilities save additional time in the laboratory. It is also compact and portable, allowing for easier transportation.
Used in conjunction with the Particle Charge Detector product (PCD-06) that measures the chemical additive demand in the process water, these two products complement each other to help users correctly identify additives and the right dosages in a sample, forming a robust two-charge approach, leading to potential cost savings.

Sunny Cui, BTG’s CEO & President said; “BTG uses the latest technology and insights to deliver improved operational efficiencies for our customers. The SZP-16 is a game-changer - the cost-saving potential for additives is great, and along with the PCD-06, BTG is providing mill operators access to better data that will transform efficiency in process surveillance and quality management.”

BTG’s products are backed up by outstanding expert service and application support worldwide to minimize any issues and increase mill efficiency.
