Valmet has concluded the change negotiations started on November 10, 2025, concerning temporary layoffs in the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit, under the Packaging and Paper business area, and in the Global Supply unit in Finland. The negotiations focused on plans to adjust capacity and improve cost efficiency of the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit and Global Supply unit.
As a result of the negotiations, Valmet retains the option to implement temporary layoffs if deemed necessary during the first half of 2026. The possible temporary layoffs concern the personnel of the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit, and the staff of the P&P Manufacturing unit’s machine workshop and foundry in Jyväskylä within the Global Supply unit.
In total, the negotiations concerned over 950 employees, covering all employee groups in these units in Finland, most of whom work in Jyväskylä, Tikkurila in Vantaa, and Raisio.
Valmet has approximately 19,000 employees worldwide, of whom about 6,000 are in Finland.
