No more than three weeks. On 7 July, the Toulouse Commercial Court postponed the examination of the takeover bid for the French market pulp producer Fibre Excellence submitted by Matthieu Pigasse until Monday 27 July, granting a final extension to the paper group, which is in administration. Both factories have been at a standstill since April.

For its part, in a press release issued on 7 July, Fibre Excellence’s management stated that it had “provided all relevant information as well as the full text of the bid, which it has since withdrawn. During this new, crucial period for the future of the sites and jobs, it also remains fully committed to answering all the proposer’s questions to enable them to put together a robust industrial plan. This extension should therefore allow the project proposer to consolidate their bid, in particular by continuing discussions with the State, so that a firm and definitive bid can be presented.”
